Beautiful handmade Silver Filigree Maltese Cross Brooch with loop for pendant. This item is hallmarked "(MALTESE CROSS), 917, F", signifying it was most likely created in the 1960s and its silver has a fineness of .917. One of the many things Malta is known for is its filigree work. Filigree is the delicate manipulation of thin strips of metal, in this case silver, that are woven and twisted to form texture and detail that most jewelry does not offer. Piece measures to be 1.75” x 1.75”.
Please note, because of its age the piece has developed patina that may not come off when polished. Personally, I believe patina is a gorgeous addition to the history each of these pieces offer!
